Ventura County Credit Union Kicks Off 75th Anniversary by Giving Back $750,000 to Local Nonprofits
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (February XX, 2025) — Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) is celebrating 75 years of service to the community by giving back in a big way—donating $750,000 to 10 local nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of Ventura County residents. Kicking off this milestone initiative, VCCU has awarded the first two donations to Food Share of Ventura County and Turning Point Foundation, two organizations dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable members of the community.
“For 75 years, Ventura County Credit Union has been a proud part of this community, and giving back is at the heart of who we are,” said Linda Rossi, President and CEO of VCCU. “This incredible milestone is not just about celebrating our past—it’s about investing in the future of Ventura County. We are honored to support Food Share and the many other nonprofits that uplift and strengthen our community.”
The $750,000 giveaway is part of VCCU’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and local impact. Over the coming months, the credit union will announce additional recipients, each already selected by a committee for their dedication to improving lives in Ventura County.
Food Share of Ventura County, the first beneficiary, has been a cornerstone in the fight against hunger, distributing millions of meals annually to individuals and families facing food insecurity. The donation from VCCU will support Food Share’s mission to ensure that no one in the county goes hungry.
“We are beyond grateful to Ventura County Credit Union for their generosity and commitment to serving our community,” said Monica White, President and CEO of Food Share of Ventura County. “This donation will directly support our efforts to provide nutritious meals to those who need them most, and it comes at a time when the need has never been greater.”

Turning Point Foundation, the second nonprofit to receive funding, provides crucial mental health services, housing assistance, and rehabilitation programs for individuals facing mental illness and homelessness in Ventura County. VCCU’s donation will support Turning Point’s mission to offer stability, recovery, and hope to those struggling with mental health challenges.
“On behalf of the Turning Point Foundation and the individuals we serve, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation,” said Jason Meek, Executive Director of Turning Point Foundation. “Your support not only strengthens our mission but directly impacts the lives of those in need of compassionate care and resources. Your commitment to being a fundamental community resource helps us continue our vital work, and we are inspired by your generosity. Together, we are creating lasting change and hope for a brighter, healthier future for all.”
