City of Ventura to host 2025 State of the City and Open House at City Hall

Ventura, Calif. — The City of Ventura invites community members to its 2025 State of the City Address and Open House on Wednesday, September 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ventura City Hall, located at 501 Poli Street. This free, family-friendly event offers residents a unique opportunity to connect directly with City leadership, staff, and services.

"I’m thrilled to welcome our community to our historic City Hall for this year’s State of the City,” said Mayor Dr. Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios. “It’s an exciting opportunity to come together, celebrate Ventura’s accomplishments, and embrace the bold opportunities that lie ahead."

The evening kicks off with an Open House and Resource Fair from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., featuring interactive booths, access to City services, and updates on ongoing initiatives. Highlights include live cultural performances by local students and a Touch-a-Truck experience with vehicles from the Ventura Police, Fire, Public Works, and Water departments.

At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Dr. Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios will deliver the 2025 State of the City Address, highlighting the City’s financial outlook, progress on City Council’s strategic priorities, and recent accomplishments. The presentation will also look ahead to key goals focused on public safety, economic development, environmental stewardship, and quality of life.

The address will be live-streamed on the City’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/CityofVentura. Spanish-language materials will be available on the City’s website during the event.

In addition to the City-hosted event, the Ventura Chamber of Commerce will host its annual State of the City breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach on Thursday, September 18, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., featuring a presentation by Mayor Sanchez-Palacios.
