Farmers Market Representative

Position

MAMA TREE farm in Ojai is hiring for an outgoing Farmers Market Representative to work our Sunday farmers markets. As the face of our farm at our local community farmers markets, this role plays a pivotal part in the establishment and maintenance of a diverse range of professional relationships that have the potential to further the success of our mission. MAMA TREE products include seasonal organic produce, jams and jellies, olive oil, fruit-infused vinegars, dehydrated fruits, and more. This position requires a passion for people, food and agriculture. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management, and the ability to work independently are also important.

Qualifications

• Availability to work on Sundays approximately twice per month, occasionally more often as market schedules shift
• A valid Driver’s License
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in retail or sales
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to stay friendly and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills 
• A deep knowledge of food safe practices
• Basic math skills for handling transactions
• Passion for regenerative and local food systems and an ability to learn about and share our personal land stewardship practices
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Physical ability to set up and break down market stalls, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs safely
