Community Memorial Hospital Earns 2026 Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award

Community Memorial Hospital – Ventura has been named a recipient of the 2026 Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award,™ placing it among the top 15% of hospitals nationwide — and one of only 13 hospitals in Southern California — to earn this distinction.

Presented annually by Healthgrades, the leading resource consumers use to find a hospital or doctor, the award recognizes hospitals that excel at providing a positive experience for patients during their hospital stay. 

The recognition is based on patient survey data collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and reflects how patients perceive their care across key areas, including communication with doctors and nurses, staff responsiveness, hospital environment, and overall likelihood to recommend the hospital to others.

Each year, the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award highlights hospitals that consistently prioritize patient-centered care and achieve high marks from the patients they serve. For its 2026 analysis, Healthgrades evaluated more than 2,700 hospitals nationwide that submitted patient experience surveys to CMS. Of those, only a select group achieved scores high enough to be recognized, underscoring the significance of this achievement.

Patient experience is a critical measure of healthcare quality, capturing not only clinical excellence but also how well care teams communicate, respond, and create an environment where patients feel informed, respected, and supported. Healthgrades evaluates hospitals using standardized survey data that reflects patients’ real-world experiences during their stay.
