Ventura, Calif. – The City of Ventura is looking for community members to serve on two important advisory bodies that help guide the City’s future: the Design Review Committee and the Water Commission. These groups provide critical input on urban design and development, and water resource planning. These advisory bodies offer residents and professionals the opportunity to get involved, lend their expertise, and make a lasting impact in Ventura.
Current Openings:
Design Review Committee
· One (1) position, term ending June 2029
· Member must be from the development community (e.g., planner or real estate professional)
· Preference for applicants with a background in landscape architecture
· Must be a City resident with knowledge of urban design and ability to interpret development plans
· Meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
· Applications due by 5:00 p.m. on October 10, 2025
Water Commission
· One (1) non-professional position, term ending September 2027 (to fill a vacated seat)
· Applicants must reside within Ventura Water’s service area and demonstrate knowledge or interest in water-related fields; City residency not required
· Meets the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
· Applications due by 5:00 p.m. on October 17, 2025
