Get ready for Speed, Smoke, Noise and Fun! The 39th Annual Wings Over Camarillo Air Show | Car Show | Festival presented by California Aeronautical University will take place August 17 and 18 at Camarillo Airport. Gates open at 9 a.m. with air show performances from noon to 4:30 p.m. both days.
With thrilling aerial performances, classic cars, food trucks, craft beer and STEM pavilion, Wings Over Camarillo (WOC) is an event for the whole family.
The theme for 2019 is “Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.” To honor the historic anniversary, WOC will feature a special World War II tribute, including a recreation of a wartime air combat with stunning pyrotechnics of fire and controlled explosions. On the ground will be past and present military aircraft, along with a Veteran’s Hangar and WWII re-enactors tent.
Jim Thompson, President of Camarillo Wings Association, stated, “This is the first time in our 39 years that we will have pyrotechnics enhancing our flying warbirds. We are very excited to bring this new experience to the event.”
WOC will also feature fan favorite Vicky Benzing in her 1940 Boeing Stearman and John Collver and his Wardog. Local favorites Judy Phelps and Sammy Mason will return to this year’s airshow lineup, as well as military aircraft, experimentals and UAVs.
